The inaugural International Conference on Sustainable Creative Art: Inspiration from Nature (SCIN), held from April 22–24, 2025, at the Museum of the Future in Dubai in collaboration with Istituto Marangoni Dubai, marked a significant milestone in advancing sustainable creative practices. The conference delivered a highly engaging and intellectually stimulating experience, bringing together a distinguished network of academics, innovators, artists, industry leaders, and creative practitioners from around the world.
SCIN 2025 served as a dynamic interdisciplinary platform, showcasing how sustainability and nature-inspired approaches are reshaping the future of creative industries. The conference featured a diverse range of discussions across key fields, including Architecture and Interior Design, Fashion, Creative Arts, Technologies, as well as Business and Marketing, highlighting the powerful intersections between design innovation, technological advancement, and market-driven strategies.
The conference was chaired by Paolo Caratelli, Professor, Program Leader of Interior Design, and Head of Research.
The keynote speakers and distinguished contributors included:
- Gabriele Goretti, Associate Professor at the DESTEC Department of the University of Pisa, specializing in Industrial Design.
- Paolo Petrocelli, an internationally recognized cultural leader of his generation.
- Giovanni Pungetti, an executive with extensive senior-level experience.
- Ross Lovegrove, representing Lovegrove Studio, the Royal College of Art, and the Centre Pompidou.
- Zheng Liu, Dean at the International Institute of Fashion Technology, Fashion Design College of Istituto Marangoni, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University.
- Shams Naga, Founder and Principal of NAGA.
